Frequently Asked Questions

Is there any location where you will not officiate?

I am afraid of heights, so bungee jumping and skydiving are not options.  Beyond that, I am up for an adventure so call me to talk about your special destination.

My fiancé and I both have children. Can we include them in the ceremony?

Absolutely.  Any ceremony at Witness to Love Weddings can be modified to include the couple's children.

Do you provide materials for special ceremonies?

For and additional fee, Witness to Love will provide the necessary supplies for a Unity Candle or Sand Ceremony.  We will need a weeks notice if you wish us to supply these items.

We want to get married, but don’t want a big wedding - what are our options?

We have plenty of options. Our Short & Sweet weddings are perfect for a couple planning a small wedding.  Many couples choose to have a small ceremony at home or in a park. We will come to your location.

You may want to consider a romantic elopement for just the two of you.  We are happy to accommodate you.

Are you an ordained Minister?

Yes, I am ordained through the Universal Life Church and able to perform all legally permitted weddings in Mississippi?

Will you come to the rehearsal?

I am happy to come to the rehearsal.  Part of being a wedding offiiciant is making sure the ceremony runs smoothly.  I will be there to organize the ceremony, calm nerves and line up your wedding party, all with a sense of humor and good cheer.  Please review our services and fees page. There is an additional charge for attending the rehearsal.

Can I customize my ceremony?

Yes, we specialize in personalized ceremonies.  Many couples want to include a special remembrance for a loved one, a unity ceremony or include a special family tradition.  Our TLC ceremonies are fully customizable.  .

Can we write our own vows?

Writing your own vows can be a very special and meaningful part of your wedding ceremony.  Please remember that you will need to email me the vows at least a week before your wedding so that I can incorporate them into your wedding ceremony script.

Do I need to file any paperwork after the wedding ceremony?

I will take care of filing all the paperwork for you.  When you apply for your license the Circuit Clerk will give you the necessary paperwork.  You will need to bring that paperwork and your license the day of the wedding. I will sign the license and return the paperwork to the Circuit Clerk's office.

What kind of ceremonies do you perform?

I perform non-denominational ceremonies that are a special combination of faith and love.  I also offer civil and non-faith based ceremonies where the focus is on the meaning of marriage and the love that the couple shares.   At Witness to Love Weddings our first priority is to create a ceremony that is authentic to you and your beliefs.

Do you officiate at same-sex weddings?

Yes, I officiate for all loving couples.  Our job at Witness to Love Weddings is to bear witness to your love.  If you have a valid marriage license, we will be happy to officiate at your ceremony.

How do I get a marriage license in Mississippi?

You will need to go to the Circuit Clerk’s office in any county in Mississippi to apply for your marriage license.  The license can be used in any county in Mississippi.  You will need to bring identification and  $22.00 in cash to pay for the license.  There is not a waiting period or a blood test in Mississippi.  You can find a list of the Circuit Clerks’ offices here.  (

Where do you perform weddings?

I will come to any venue in the greater Jackson metro area that fulfills your wedding dreams.  I will travel outside the area, but any distance greater than 30 miles  will incur a travel fee.  (See our services and fees page.)
